Farmer Shares Inspiration

Man turns love for watermelon into children’s book

By Allison Perkins Staff Writer May 19, 2004 Updated Jan 24, 2015

"If I had one crop in the whole world, it’d be watermelon. I’m fascinated by them,” Switzer says. “It’s like seeing the sun rise.”

“I don’t speak eloquent,” he says, throwing his pinky into the air. “I’m a farmer. I don’t need anyone to tell me how to talk.”
